You know a UFC event is a big deal when it is the #1 trending topic on social media and people from all over turn their attention to the Octagon. A big part of that has been the rise of Ronda Rousey and how quickly she's captured the imaginations of people across the globe. Her brash attitude and lightning quick finishes became must-see television, empowered women across the globe and brought attention to the sport like no other.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, getting #RondaRousey's name right wasn't on the agenda when she fought at UFC 207.
For all that Rousey's has done for women's MMA, the least people could do is get her name right. I mean, you've only seen her permeate into the mainstream for the past several years. But you still manage to call her "Rhonda" Rousey. To make matters worse, those who incessantly spell her name wrong have the nerve to act as if they knew the entire time that Rousey was going to get knocked out in the first round by #AmandaNunes.
We've gotta do better. But at least they are watching, right?
Unfortunately, the answer is no.
It wasn't any better for the champion...
A double whammy...
Ugh. At least they are watching.
