Possible presidential candidate and world’s highest-paid actor Dwayne #TheRock Johnson will join the likes of Steve Martin and Melissa McCarthy coveted five-timers club when he hosts the season finale for “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.
Before the #WWE superstar makes his highly-anticipated return to New York City’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza, let’s take a trip down memory lane to The Rock’s first appearance on the sketch comedy show. It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two decades since he first hosted “SNL.”
Way back when the wrestler still had hair and the WWE went by the WWF moniker, The Rock debuted as a guest host for the series on March 18, 2000. The combat sports and acting star didn’t come alone though, as a bunch of his wrestling pals crashed his opening monologue to give him some flak.
Everyone from Mick Foley and the Big Show to Triple H and head honcho Vince McMahon stopped by for The Rock’s big appearance, which likely delighted any fan of pro wrestling in the late ‘90s.
Check out the awesome, cameo-filled monologue below.
