Hassan N'Dam isn't known for his punching power. But he could have fooled the world with a scintillating flattening of Alfonso Blanco in 21 seconds that will likely be in the running for 2016 knockout of the year.
N'Dam -- who recently lost in his first fight as a professional competing in the 2016 Olympics -- fought over the weekend against Blanco in France. It was expected that the fight would go the distance. Instead, N'Dam turned in one of the most brutal knockouts you'll see this year.
The previously unbeaten Blanco was caught flush with a N'Dam right hand that immediately turned the lights out. Blanco crashed face first into the canvas and shook violently as the referee immediately waved the fight off.
The victory improves N'Dam's record to 35-2 with his 21st knockout being easily his best. He claimed the interim WBA middleweight title and will likely be the mandatory for the winner of Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs fight happening next year. Chances are that he won't be able to duplicate this performance against either. Still, let's relish in the violence that N'Dam unleashed.
