Conor McGregor is gearing up for a potential fight with legendary boxer #FloydMayweather and is rumored to already be in fight camp, which he seems to be confirming by posting yet another video of him training in a boxing ring.
While McGregor has been vocal about his potential paycheck, he hasn't spoken very much about the actual fight itself — until now.
"Not much will change when I fight under the famed, yet very limited, Queensbury rules," he wrote. "No disrespect to single discipline fighters, from boxing to kicking to grappling, just know that understanding one style of fighting is simply not enough."
If the bout with Mayweather ever does come to fruition, it would be a boxing match — not MMA where McGregor is most comfortable.
"In a straight fight, you do not possess enough tools to keep you alive. You will be dismantled and killed."
McGregor doesn't name Mayweather, perhaps because he's also hinted at calling out another fighter if the bout with Mayweather falls apart.
"Like the late, great Bruce Lee once said, "When you are talking about fighting, as it is, with no rules, well then baby, you'd better train every part of your body,"' he wrote.
McGregor is currently training in the ring at SBG Charlestown while he awaits the birth of his first child and is currently on paternity leave from the UFC.
