The Wanderlei Silva/Charles Bennett rivalry is back in full throttle.
Bennett, who competed at Rizin FF 2 on Sunday, defeated Minoru Kimura via first round knockout, then called out Wanderlei Silva to a fight.
"Where's Candylei?," Bennett said. "Candylei, I'm not going to even say, but 300K. Candylei, for the record, you know what happened in 2005, and that's why you're still salty. That's why you're still trying to get some of this, but you can't get none of this unless you put it on contract. You put it on contract, then you can get some, and other than that, every time your big, steroid-head ass see me."
The 36-year-old featherweight has plenty of history with the former PRIDE FC middleweight champion, as they were both involved in an altercation in December, 2005 at PRIDE FC Shockwave 2005.
The story, to this day, is still not 100 percent clear, but there is a video where Bennett gets into a brawl with Silva's Chute Boxe teammate Cristiano Marcello. That fight resulted in Bennett getting choked unconscious with a triangle. The video ends with Bennett laying unconscious on the ground, but according to Bennett, he knocked out Silva, who was present in the video, after waking up from the choke. 'Krazy Horse' says the Chute Boxe team edited that part out of the video.
Eleven years later, Bennett and Silva still have beef. Not only was it shown in Bennett's post-fight speech at Rizin FF 2, but days before the fight, Silva and Bennett got into another altercation in a hotel lobby in Saitama, Japan.
It's unclear if the 145-pound Bennett will ever fight the 185-pound Silva, but it's not far fetched to think that Rizin FF would book that type of fight.
