Oh snap, the Polish buzzsaw of the women's UFC strawweight division is gearing up for her return after surviving Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205! Joanna Jedrzejcyk is on a 13-fight win streak and is only two title defenses away from matching Ronda Rousey's record. The reigning champion has came back to the United States to train at American Top Team for her new victim, but who that could be is a mysterious nut to crack.
So, who could her next opponent be? Going down the rankings, it's not that easy to MMA math the next challenger. #RoseNamajunas is coming off a loss to the fighter Jedrzejczyk just beat, Tecia Torres and Jessica Andrade are both booked and so is former opponent #CarlaEsparza. That brings us to #MichelleWaterson, who just choked #PaigeVanZant completely out. She's got the striking to keep up with Jedrzejczyk and a mean clinch game, something that Kowalkiewicz used to frustrate the champ.
The wildcard in all of this is #AngelaHill. In between playing video games, she went 4-0 in Invicta FC, won and defended their strawweight championship. She makes her UFC return against Andrade at Fight Night 104 on Feb. 4th. If she wins her comeback fight, it's possible the UFC could put champion against champion and the UFC might have told Jedrzejczyk to stay ready. After all, Hill does technically have the best win streak now out of anyone besides Waterson if you count her Invicta fights.
