The mixed martial arts phenom and former Dancing with the Stars runner-up made the most of her Food Network appearance by dazzling the judges with her impressive skills in the kitchen. VanZant faced stiff competition as she squared off against fellow notable athletes Dorothy Hamill, LaMarr Woodley, and Mariel Zagunis in the first round of the "Star Power Tournament."
As a seasoned amateur chef, VanZant had no problem taking out her star-studded opponents on Chopped. She easily outlasted Woodley, who was eliminated following the appetizer round, which included basket ingredients of wagyu ground beef, Swiss chard, eggplant rollatini, and ranch dressing soda. VanZant also turned in an impressive entree, utilizing lamb noisette roast, avocados, za’atar bread, and frozen mint lemonade.
After Zagunis' elimination in the entree round, VanZant went head to head with Hamill for a dessert battle. The female athletes created a final meal out of rice pudding-stuffed brioche, blood oranges, protein powder balls, and strawberry rock candy.
When it was all said and done, PVZ was crowned the winner of the tournament's opening round, earning the title of Chopped champion.
Her young fans seemed to enjoy the win.
Aside from getting ready for a return to the Octagon, VanZant will next vie for the grand champion title when the Chopped "Star Power Tournament" wraps up on April 25.
