MMA has deep roots in Russia where Combat Sambo has been one of the best skills in terms of a base in the short history of the sport. We've seen Fedor Emelianenko rule PRIDE, and now Khabib Nurmagomedov is doing his best to rule the UFC with their dominant hybrid style.

Now, we're seeing Dana White aggressively trying to get the UFC into Russia, and it's obvious why — he's got a massive star in . Who else gets hero's welcomes like this?

Speaking to FOX 5, Dana White laid out his future plans as clear as can be (h/t MMA Junkie)

“We’re focused very heavily on Russia right now,” White said. “First of all, there’s tons of talent coming out of Russia, and a lot of fans. There’s a fighter named Khabib who’s from Russia, and he’s insanely popular...."

So, let's unpack that statement. Does White want Conor vs. Khabib in Russia? Or is he just saying that Khabib challenging Conor can happen because of Khabib's popularity (and undefeated record)?

Either way, we want to see that fight, we want to see a Russian event, and we want it all now.
