Netflix has tapped former champion Anderson Silva to be a celebrity host for its new reality competition series Ultimate Beastmaster.

Produced by legend Sylvester Stallone, the upcoming show is putting an international spin on the Ninja Warrior, obstacle course model. According to the official synopsis, Ultimate Beastmaster will air six versions of the series customized for viewers in six different countries. Audiences in Brazil, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and the U.S. will get a chance to cheer on competitors from their home countries, all while listening to local hosts who will commentate in their native language.

The synopsis also revealed that a total of 108 competitors will attempt to be crowned the Ultimate Beastmaster.

The 10-episode event series will feature 108 competitors, 18 from each country, in total. Each hour-long episode will feature 12 competitors, two from each country, who will take their shot at running one of the most physically demanding obstacle courses ever devised, “The Beast.” At the end of each episode, a ‘Beastmaster’ will be crowned and in the final episode of the season, the nine individual winners from each episode will compete against each other for the chance for one contestant to become the Ultimate Beastmaster.

As a living legend in Brazil, it's only natural that the series would use "The Spider" as one of the hosts for his native country's version of the show. Silva will commentate alongside comedian and TV personality Rafinha Bastos.

American actor Terry Crews has hosting duties for the U.S. version of Ultimate Beastmaster, which will also feature Fox Sports' Charissa Thompson.

  • U.S.: Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Ridiculous Six), Charissa Thompson (Extra TV, Fox Sports)
  • Brazil: Anderson Silva (former UFC Middleweight Champion), Rafinha Bastos (Comedian, Journalist, and TV Personality)
  • South Korea: Seo Kyung Suk (Actor, Comedian, and TV Host), Park Kyeong Rim (Actress, Comedian, and TV Host)
