The Korean Zombie is a special brand of fighter. He wades through punches and kicks like the Creature from the Black Lagoon wades through... Lagoon water? I dunno. Bad analogy (but also good). Before TKZ was a T-shirt hocking UFC fighter, before he had the most epic war in WEC history against Leonard Garcia, he was fighting in Japan and South Korea in some highly-entertaining fights.
Take this Deep: 39 Impact fight against Fanjin Son. It shows off the kind of featherweight power that would take out Mark Hominick in seven seconds and lead to a title shot against Jose Aldo.
It's good to have TKZ back. It's been three long years away, but we all know he'll make up for his mandatory South Korean military service by gifting us his special and violent style against Dennis Bermudez this weekend. And if we're lucky, we'll get yet another classic fight.
Let's watch some highlights.
