Following the most successful year of his professional career, it seems that Michael Bisping's 2017 is off to a "peculiar" start.

Facing a near-constant string of callouts from the likes of Yoel Romero, Jacare Souza, Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, and even welterweight champ Tyron Woodley, "The Count" has recently stated his intentions to only accept "the biggest fights possible" as long as he is champion.

"I don’t mind facing No. 1 contenders, but at this stage of my career, I’ve fought the best guys forever," Bisping told us. "I want the biggest fight it can possibly be. I feel I deserve that. I’ve earned that."

But before Bisping could begin to weigh over his options, he had to first undergo knee surgery to fix some nagging ailments. Thankfully, it seems his surgery was a success, as the middleweight champ took to Instagram to celebrate.

"Just waking up in the morning gotta thank God, I don't know, but today I feel kind of odd!!," wrote Bisping, quoting Ice Cube's immortal hit "It Was a Good Day."

"Thank you Dr Mora and his team for taking care of me. Surgery successfully completed, but I'm feeling a little peculiar right now lol."

While Bisping hasn't offered a definitive timetable on his recovery, he did tell us to expect a fight announcement by "the end of April or May," if all goes as planned.

Upon which I fully expect him to Rep That (North)West (Lancashire), if you know what I mean.
