He was supposed to come back and save the UFC. Out of nowhere, Georges St-Pierre swooped down like a cape-wearing hero and was signed to a superfight with Michael Bisping. Dana White was happy, fans were happy, and Bisping was damn near jubilant. Unfortunately, the fight can't happen as soon as the UFC wanted it, so they scrapped it. So, where does that leave St-Pierre? All signs seem to point to a welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley, but coach Firas Zahabi has other ideas.

“I think he should fight Conor McGregor or Michael Bisping, and I’ll tell you why: Michael Bisping will give him a two-title championship, and if he fights McGregor, it’ll be the greatest fight in UFC history."

“He doesn’t need any more to go and try to be champion of the welterweight division and try to defend the title every three-four months. I think he’s done that, and he’s past that. I don’t want to speak for him. I don’t know if it’s a lifestyle he wants to go back to. I think he should fight Conor McGregor or Michael Bisping. [...] Other than that, I don't know if there's anything else that's super interesting. I don't want to speak for Georges, maybe Georges is thinking of other fights, but the two fights I'm interested in would be a Bisping fight or a McGregor fight. I don't see why that can't happen." — Firas Zahabi to Chamatkar Sandhu of MMA Junkie.

This isn't the first time Zahabi has been vocal about a gigantic fight against Conor McGregor. Of course, it would be a huge clash that would serve to be the carrot to McGregor's horse to get him galloping back into the UFC. Even if McGregor boxes Floyd Mayweather and makes millions upon millions, the UFC would need a fight like this entice back to MMA anyway. All of this could take forever though, so what happens in the meantime? What is taking St-Pierre so long to fight? His coach had a simple answer: USADA.

“I think everybody knows Georges asked to go through the USADA testing. He also has to wait 'till the Fall before he can fight. I think it’s clear on his side. Everybody knows that.”

In all the chaos, maybe everyone forgot. The USADA testing pool pushes St-Pierres' earliest return to August or September, if he got in before the window mentioned above. So, an October fight actually makes sense when that is put into perspective. It's not like they can just completely ignore USADA and have St-Pierre fight anyway. Right? Well, no, not unless you're Brock Lesnar.
