It looks like Tyron Woodley is getting his method acting on now that the fiasco which was UFC 209 is in the rear view mirror.
Since pretty much everyone except Joe Rogan was bummed out by his rematch with Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson, the champion is hoping to win back a few fans via his budding career in Hollywood. Woodley posted a photo from the set of his latest movie on Wednesday, sporting a scraggly gray beard and glasses.
The champ juxtaposed the image with a photo of his dad, writing "I'm my daddy's son" in the caption. For what it's worth, Woodley also has the Jeffrey Wright/Uncle Phil look going on.
Following his latest title defense, Woodley noted at the UFC 209 post-fight press conference that he would be taking some time away from the Octagon to go on vacation as well as work on his acting career. For the time being, it sounds like he's got other things on his mind than booking another fight.
“If I say I want to fight someone then the whole Internet goes crazy so what I’m going to do is I’m going to go vacation,” Woodley said. “I’m shooting a movie next week. Taking my family to Puerto Rico after that and I’ll let me managers and Dana White figure that out.”
While there are few details about Woodley's current movie role, the champ has steadily added to his on screen resume over the years.
Woodley recently appeared opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme, Gina Carano, and Georges St-Pierre in the latest Kickboxer installment. He also appeared in the Bollywood blockbuster Sultan as well as the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.
