Fighters dream of claiming a knockout win in front of their home crowd and last evening Dan "The Hangman" Hooker experienced exactly that.

took on British veteran on the main card of and he recorded the third straight finish of the evening wit ha stunning knockout.

Pearson and Hooker entered the Octagon hot on the heels of Ion Cutelaba's incredible 22-second knockout of Henrique da Silva. The crowd probably never imagined they would witness something more impressive than that, but their hometown man Hooker delivered in style.

After playing out an interesting first round where both men stood in the pocket and went blow for blow, both Pearson and Hooker came out in the second looking to continue to the war on the feet. Unfortunately for Pearson, Hooker was getting better at reading his timing and after three minutes of the round had passed, he made a fatal error.

The Brit jumped in with his favourite left hook and Hooker saw it a mile off. The Kiwi responded with a vicious knee to the face and Pearson was instantly out cold and heading down to the mat. Hooker followed up with one shot on the ground, but the referee thankfully saved Pearson from any further punishment and called the fight off.

After a scary few moments being treated by the cageside medical staff, Pearson was able to get up and sit back on his stool. What an incredible lightweight debut for Hooker. He's certainly one to keep an eye on at 155-pounds.
