The stop/start elite lightweight matchup between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov has been flirting with our fight fan hearts for years. Now (hopefully), the two No.1 contenders (that makes sense) will finally fight for the UFC interim lightweight title at UFC 209 (fingers crossed). It's gonna be good (so good). Parenthetical.
In an interview with FOX Sports, Khabib didn't mince words. He wants to punish Tony Ferguson for the trash talk, and simply to prove a point.
“If you watch when I fight [Rafael] Dos Anjos, Michael Johnson, Darrel Horcher, these guys are my opponents, but he’s a little bit different than other guys,” Nurmagomedov said. “I want to break his face because I want to teach him respect. When I fought with Michael Johnson, when I took his arm for the kimura, I can break it but I go very slowly, be careful because I don’t want to give him injury. Because I understand fight was finished. I need only to go a little bit slowly and he tapped."

So nice Guy Khabib isn't that nice of a guy, it seems. Here's the money quote:
If you don't remember that fateful rematch between Big Nog and Frank Mir that shattered Nog's arm and millions of hearts, here it is:
That's some pretty nasty stuff to promise a fellow No. 1 contender, but Khabib is typically a man of his word. We wonder how T-Ferg feels...
