TJ Dillashaw came into UFC 207 with a chip on his shoulder. He was the former bantamweight champ, edged out of his reign by Dominick Cruz thanks to a razor-thin decision, then he was denied a rematch (in his mind) thanks to politics.
While Cruz defended the title against Dillashaw's former mentor in Urijah Faber, Dillashaw beat Raphael Assuncao. Now, at UFC 207, Dillashaw's thrashing of #2 bantamweight John Lineker sent a message to both Cody Garbrandt and Dominick Cruz — a serious threat is on the horizon.
This was by far Dillashaw's best performance since his championship fights against Renan Baro. He dominated the extremely tough Lineker with his sharp (and still developing!) stand-up and heavy wrestling.
After the fight, Dillashaw dropped jaws with his call out of Dominick Cruz. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!
Notice the Faber diss? Ouch.
