Mirsad Bektic remained undefeated at UFC 204 Saturday night, submitting Russell Doane with a rear-naked choke at 4:22 of the first round.

Bektic last fought 497 days ago, as he was out from due to a knee injury. He showed no rust in his return, dominating Doane from the opening bell.

"Everybody in the featherweight division better step up their game," Bektic said in the post-fight interview with Brian Stann.

He said even though he hasn't fought in nearly 500 days, he never stopped working on his game.

"People who don't work get laid off," Bektic said. "I have been working. I work everyday."

Bektic took Doane down early and controlled the fight.

Doane tried to tie him up and scramble to his feet, but Bektic just took him down again. Bektic stayed patient and eventually slipped on the rear-naked choked for the victory.
