The climate is bipolar right now, the animals are confused, they sense something and it probably just isn't global warming. Jon Jones, a dynamic force of nature and the people's UFC light heavyweight champion, will make his return in the heat of the summer. A suspension under awkward circumstances at robbed us of Jones' whirling dervish of elbows for most of 2017, but the time for mourning is over. Let's celebrate the imminent destruction he'll bring by honoring the anniversary of his title win over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in 2011.

If you ignore — like many people do — a 12-6 elbow disqualification, Jones was coming into his title fight with Rua undefeated on a 13-fight win streak. The young violence artist left an impressive body count behind him, all while building a crazy hype by pulling off things he shouldn't be able to get away with. A perfect example of this is his insane flying knee on Shogun as the very first strike of their UFC 128 title fight.

A couple of fighters have used the term 'legends ass kicking tour' recently, but after stealing the belt from , Jones did just that before most of the fighters were past their prime and then just kept going. He became the UFC's youngest champion and continued his reign of terror, which will start back up after his year hiatus by most likely challenging the winner of 's main event. By the end of 2017, Jon Jones' could very well be champion once again.
