UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is going all out with his budding action movie career.
The mixed martial arts star revealed on Twitter this week that he's teaming up with Rocky legend Sylvester Stallone for the upcoming thriller Escape Plan 2. The film is a sequel to the 2013 flick starring Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played inmates that try to escape the world's most secure prison.
While there are few details about Woodley's role in the film, we're guessing he's playing a muscle-bound prisoner who ends up crossing paths with Stallone's Ray Breslin.
Since bumps and bruises usually come with working on a Stallone project, hopefully Woodley didn't get too beat up on the set. Judging by his Friday morning tweet, it seems like the champ had a blast working on Escape Plan 2.
In addition to Woodley and Stallone, the upcoming sequel is also set to star Guardians of the Galaxy actor and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista. Rapper 50 Cent, who's spending a lot of time on sets with MMA fighters lately, will reprise his role of Hush from the first Escape Plan.
Directed by Steven C. Miller, Escape Plan 2 is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters some time in 2018.
