Tony Bellew emerged as a title contender when he shocked in March. Since then, he has been making waves by regularly hinting at huge potential bouts. The next name to be discussed as a potential opponent, is light heavyweight champion .

After stopping Sergey Kovalev in a recent rematch, Ward is looking to move up in weight. He has mentioned new heavyweight king, . However, the titleholder is tied up for at least two bouts before he can even discuss a bout with Ward. After the likely rematch with Klitschko, Joshua's mandatory title defense would be against Kubrat Pulev.

After those bouts, Tyson Fury is the most likely candidate. The two heavyweights have a beef to settle and Fury will try and regain his boxing license while Joshua faces the other two challengers. A bout with Tony Bellew on the other hand, is very possible.

Tony Bellew addressed the rumours in a recent Instagram post. He revealed that talks between the Bellew and Ward camp are underway. Ever the underdog, Tony urged fans not to count him out.

Speaking to IFL TV, Tony Bellew has elaborated on this further. Bellew noted that he has a lot of respect for Ward but he would manhandle him if the fight happens. The mutual respect between the two comes from the experience they shared filming .

Bellew and Ward both had a role in the seventh Rocky movie, Bellew played the main villain, 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan. Their characters faced each other in the movie, could we see them face-off in real life?
