Before UFC bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes became the champion, she was a no-name fighter competing on the regional circuit in Brazil. She lost her pro debut, but stunned at DF Demo Fight 3 back in 2008 when she secured her first ever professional win.
Oh yeah, she did it in just :11 seconds.
Did you happen to see that it was also a forfeit by her opponent's corner?
Amanda's opponent, Paty Barbosa, was making her MMA debut, and never again fought after her devastating loss. It took only 11 seconds for her corner to throw in the towel to stop the fight.
Ironically, Junior dos Santos was also on this card. He scored a first round TKO (doctor stoppage) in the co-main event.
Amanda would slowly climb her way up the UFC bantamweight rankings where she eventually faced new champion, Miesha Tate. She defeated Tate via a first round submission to become the bantamweight champion, but it wasn't until she beat the former queen of the division (Ronda Rousey) that she began to garner the attention a title holder deserves.
She is currently awaiting the opponent for her next title defense.
