CM Punk is clearly still missed by the Universe.

The crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles went crazy Monday night after Raw went off the air, because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson actually called Punk on his cell phone.

Punk didn’t answer. That’s not a surprise. The Rock even tried to Facetime him, but that didn’t work out either.

Punk later tweeted that he didn’t answer because he was walking his dog. He also tweeted a thank you to the WWE fans.

Johnson was their working on a film about WWE wrestler Paige’s family, called Wrestling with My Family, which is based on Paige’s life. An actress playing Punk’s wife, former WWE wrestler AJ Lee, was there to shoot a scene where Paige defeats Lee for the women’s title.

It's been reported that both Triple H and Vince McMahon were unhappy with The Rock's decision to call CM Punk in front of a live WWE audience. There is speculation that production attempted to cut his microphone off when he attempted to make the call. At one point, when it appeared that his microphone was cutting out, The Rock said “they better not turn off my mic.” Live reports also state that a referee was sent down to the ring to try to get Johnson to not make the call.

We can only hope that the next time Johnson or anyone affiliated with the WWE calls, the former WWE champion picks up the telephone. Although Punk dabbled in the UFC, everyone knows where he truly belongs, dropping pipe bombs and submission holds in the WWE.
