In the world of combat sports, every knockout is truly its own, unique, unconsciousness-inducing snowflake. From time to time, however, we are gifted a KO that truly defies the odds, our expectations, or even the common laws of physics. That's what the 'Insane KO of the Day' is all about.
Today's KO: Maybe Tai Chi Isn't So Bad After All
Earlier this week, we took a look at the harsh realities of Tai Chi's effectiveness against mixed martial arts. We covered our mouths and giggled as a supposed master of the ancient Chinese martial art got absolutely destroyed by his MMA counterpart, and came to the conclusion that Tai Chi would be best to continue being practiced in public parks by the elderly than be applied to any actual fighting scenario.
Then we received a link to this video, in which a Tai Chi fighter squares off with a kickboxer and KO's him with a goddamn flying somersault kick.
All we know about it is that the man doing the flip-kicking goes by the name of Han Feilong, who competes mainly in something called EM Legend. But none of that matters. What matters is that every one of us was totally wrong about the effectiveness of Tai Chi and should probably head to the nearest public park so we can start Ralph Macchioing any would-be assailant that crosses our path. Can you imagine how much easier our lives would be if we knew this move?
My boss: "Hey we're gonna need you to come in on Saturday-"
Comcast Representative: "Can I put you on hold rea-"
The applications are endless, you guys. It's time to start making every day our best day.
