What do they say about the squeaky wheel getting the grease?

After days of respectfully going back and forth on social media, the Herald Scotland have reported that UFC lightweights Paul Felder and Stevie Ray will meet at on July 16.

Earlier this week, Felder made it very clear that he was keen to head to Scotland and challenge Ray in his own backyard. The man from Philly had previously been linked to a fight with Marc Diakiese, but after that fight fell through, Felder readjusted his sights to Ray.

(13-3) is coming off of a big win against Alessandro Ricci in February. That evening, he put Ricci away impressively in the first round and took home a ‘performance of the night’ bonus for his troubles. Having won three of his last four, Felder now gets the opportunity to fight outside of the United Stated for the third fight running when he heads to Scotland on July 16 to take on a man fighting with the home field advantage.

(21-6) is also coming off a big win having defeated Joe Lauzon at last month. The Scot has gone 5-1 since joining the UFC over two years ago and has defeated some big names including the likes of Ross Pearson, Mickael Lebout and Leonardo Mafra. Ray now gets the chance to fight for the second time in his home country under the UFC banner. The last time he fought there was back in July of 2015 when the UFC visited the SSE Hydro for the first time.

Five other bouts have been officially announced for the card so far.

Paul Craig vs. Khalil Rountree

Jack Marshman vs. Ryan Janes

Mark Godbeer vs. Justin Willis

Charlie Ward vs. Galore Bofando

Danny Roberts vs. Bobby Nash
