It appears that there is a renewed interest in a Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather boxing match after the Irishman easily disposed of Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

The UFC featherweight champion became the first fighter in the history of the promotion to hold world titles in two different weight classes simultaneously after beating Alvarez for the lightweight title.

The victory reignited conversation regarding a possible superfight between McGregor and retired pound for pound boxing king, Floyd Mayweather. Although Mayweather has never been beaten in a boxing match, there are some who believe that McGregor wouldn't be embarrassed in a 12-round fight. One of those individuals is Skip Bayless. The host of Fox Sports "Undisputed" talk show believes that not only would McGregor hang with Mayweather, but he'd also be able to hurt the unbeaten fighter.

Obviously, boxing is Mayweather's domain and the 39-year-old has yet to meet his equal in the ring. If a fight like this were to ever take place, McGregor would be a massive underdog if the bout were under boxing rules. It's something that McGregor has mentioned he would be interested as a test, but Bayless simply doesn't believe that it would be the one-sided demolition that most anticipate.

Bayless took it one step further and stated that Mayweather was "threatened" by McGregor and it could cost him if the two were to ever fight in a massive pay per view.

Does Bayless make any valid points or is he simply blowing smoke?
