Rose Namajunas put together her finest performance of her young career when she defeated #MichelleWaterson at UFC on FOX 24 with one of the gnarliest rear naked choke submission in women's strawweight history.
Following the victory, Namajunas believes that she can be follow in the footsteps of one of the most dominant women in the history of mixed martial arts.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Namajunas laughed when they asked if she is going to be the next #RondaRousey.
"I've already been thinking that," she said.
Rousey was the UFC's biggest star for many years — until she lost her bantamweight title to Holly Holm in one of the biggest upsets in MMA history. After a year away from the sport, she returned to the Octagon but lost by knockout in the first round against Amanda Nunes in January. There has been doubt whether Rousey will continue her MMA career or opt for a much safer career that focuses on TV and movies instead of fighting.
This isn't the first time that Namajunas has been compared to Rousey. During her run on The Ultimate Fighter -- where won all of her tournament fights by stoppage -- Namajunas drew heavy comparisons to Rousey. That all was ground to a halt when she was beaten by Carla Esparza for the inaugural UFC women's strawweight title.
