2016 has seen the UFC enjoy one of its most successful years to date, and as the year heads to a close, the promotion still has one last mammoth event left in its locker — The highly anticipated return of Ronda Rousey.

UFC 207 will see the former dominant bantamweight champion make the walk to the Octagon for the first time since her devastating loss at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193. Since her self-imposed exile from the sport, the belt has switched hands two times from Holly Holm to Miesha Tate and now Amanda Nunes. On December 30th, Rousey will hope to once again hold the belt that she believes belongs to her.

Following UFC 193, Ronda Rousey struggled to cope with the ramifications of her first loss in the promotion. Inducing a media black out and retreating into the solace of her personal life, many wondered if Rousey would return at all, and if she did would she ever be the same fighter. Even recently, UFC hall of famer Chuck Liddell questioned whether or not the former champ will show up with the mental strength she once had.

However, Ronda Rousey is keen to dispel these rumors. Looking fierce and focused in her face off with Amanda Nunes, Dana White previously stated that Ronda was already walking around on championship weight well ahead of fight week and is ready to get her strap back. One needs only look at her recent Instagram photos for further validation that the MMA superstar is ready for this fight.

The black and white photos show Ronda Rousey in peak physical condition, and all carry the intimidating UFC 207 promo tagline “she’s back”.

Interestingly, two of the three photos show working on her stand-up game, a part of her arsenal that was exposed by former boxer Holly Holm.

We know how dominant Rousey is on the ground, but coming up against a striker like Amanda Nunes could pose problems for the former champ. With a year out, it's only logical to assume that Rousey has been working hard on improving this part of her arsenal.

If those promo pics weren’t enough to get you hyped for the return of arguably the biggest woman MMA star ever, then check out the spine-tingling UFC 207 official promo below.
