#FedorEmelianenko is rumored to be making his Bellator debut in early 2017, and the heavyweight division will never be the same.

According to reports by FloCombat, Bellator is targeting Emelianenko vs. UFC veteran #MattMitrione.

This match-up will boost Bellator's already growing roster after having just signed Rory MacDonald, Benson Henderson and Chael Sonnen.

The bout is not official yet, but according to reports is, "close to being a done deal."

Mitrione is coming off two wins with Bellator, both finishes. His most recent victory came when he defeated Oli Thompson at Belltor 158 via a second round TKO.

#Fedor Emelianenko is on a five-fight win streak with his most recent win coming via highly controversial majority decision win over Fabio Maldonado at EFN 50 in Russia. He has yet to compete for the Bellator organization.

This dream matchup would be in addition to the already booked super fight between light heavyweight UFC veterans, Tito Ortiz and Sonnen, which is set for January 2017.

If the bout was to become official, it would arguably be the most important heavyweight fight in Bellator history, with the potential to become their biggest ratings draw, as well.
