It's easy to forget that #RashadEvans entered The Ultimate Fighter 2 as a heavyweight before dropping back down to light heavy, where he became champion all the way back in 2008. Even in those free and easy days of the early #TUF years, Evans was flirting with the possibility of cutting to 185, and now that day has finally come ahead of UFC 205 when he takes on #TimKennedy.
So, how's that weight cut going? Frankly, 'Shad looks good.
At 37-years-old, this is Evans' last push towards a title. He's gone 2-4 in his last 6 fights, battled various knee injuries that have kept him on the shelf for years at a time, and his only wins since 2012 are over Chael Sonnen (TKO) and Dan Henderson (split-decision).
Maybe it's his TUF 2 cast mate, Michael Bisping holding onto the middleweight belt that's lit a fire under Evans?
No matter the motivation, it'll be exciting to see this new and revitalized Rashad Evans in the cage against Tim Kennedy at #UFC205.
