UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor arrived in New York last week ahead of his Madison Square Garden title fight against Eddie Alvarez.

The card has already made history as the first ever UFC event to take place in the city, but McGregor is looking for his own personal bit of glory. If he defeats Alvarez this Saturday, McGregor will become the first person in UFC history to hold two championship titles simultaneously.

New UFC 205 themed gloves?

After participating in a couple of fan meet-and-greets, "The Notorious One" is gearing up in what look to be specially designed gloves themed around the UFC's historic New York City debut.

The new gloves appear to have the Statue of Liberty's crown atop the UFC logo.

While the UFC hasn't confirmed if McGregor (or the other fighters on the card for that matter) will be wearing these gloves into the Octagon on Saturday, it may be a similar situation to UFC 200, where the Octagon canvas sported a one-time gold coloring.

Conor McGregor in a championship fight kit?

Additionally, McGregor's BJJ coach Dillon Danis posted a look at what might be Conor McGregor's UFC 205 fight kit (via Reddit).

Interestingly, McGregor has not sported this white and black look since UFC 189. At that event, McGregor defeated Chad Mendes in the second round by TKO to earn the interim UFC Featherweight Championship, and a subsequent title shot.

In his next bout with Jose Aldo, McGregor sported his now iconic green and black kit, which he abandoned for a more traditional "Champion" fight kit at UFC 196.

Conor McGregor last wore his custom-designed green and black fight kit at UFC 202, where he rematched and defeated Nate Diaz in a record-breaking PPV event.

UFC 205 will take place this Saturday. In addition to a lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez, it will also feature two more championship bouts featuring Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson, and Joanna Jędrzejczyk vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
