Patricky "Pitbull" Freire regained his Bellator lightweight title over the weekend against , the same man he lost the title to nearly two years ago. Riding high off of that big victory, Pitbull's confidence is certainly showing as the Brazilian took to social media with claims that he could beat UFC featherweight champion and former UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

"You can forget the fight with Jose Aldo and Max Holloway in the UFC; this fight showed you who the best 145 pounder in the world is. This fight showed you who the best featherweight in the world is," Freire said to FloCombat.

He went on to say that, despite the fact that relinquished the belt after being crowned the UFC's first ever two-division champion, he could beat him too.

"Let's be real," Freire said. "He never earned that belt. That belt was given to him as a present. He beat Frankie Edgar and then he became champion because they stripped Conor McGregor of the belt. Conor McGregor is the true champion in my eyes. I will beat them both, so it doesn't matter to me."

is 26-4 in his professional career with his most recent loss coming at the hands of a leg injury during his Bellator 160 bout with . Aldo is considered one of the most dangerous UFC featherweights in history and went undefeated for ten years before falling to McGregor in one of the most shocking KO's in history.
