UFC veteran and son-in-law to Muhammad Ali, Kevin Casey, has signed with Bellator this week.

Casey announced the signing on his official Instagram page on Tuesday along with a debut date - January 2017.

Casey will be making his Bellator debut at the Forum on January 21, the same card that will be headlined by Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen. No opponent for Casey has been announced.

He was released from the UFC earlier this month after a string of losses, two no contests and a draw. Casey was praised for fighting at UFC 199 just one day after the death of his wife's father. That bout ended in a draw.

Of Casey's seven UFC appearances, he only won once when he defeated Ildemar Alcantara via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night San Diego in 2015.
