MMA fans and received a real heartbreaker last month when it was revealed just hours prior to Bellator 172 that Matt Mitrione had been forced out of his bout with Fedor Emelianenko due to nasty case of kidney stones. Hit hardest by the news was, expectedly, none other than Mitrione himself, who publicly flogged himself for "dropping the ball" in the days that followed.

Unfortunately for Mitrione, it seems he may have let this once-in-a-lifetime chance slip away from him for good.

With Mitrione still dealing with the fallout from (which SPOILER: included "pulling a 26cm stent from his peehole") and Emelianenko seeking to fight as early as May, it looks like Bellator may have already found a replacement opponent in the form of former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal.

Of course, how King Mo performs against Rampage Jackson in their heavyweight rematch at the end of the month will surely have some bearing whether or not this fight actually comes to fruition, but in terms of thrown together fights (or Bellator heavyweight fights in general), you could do a lot worse than Fedor vs. King Mo. Although his last fight against a heavyweight legend didn't exactly go smoothly, Lawall has been calling for that fight ever since Fedor's Bellator signing was announced, so show of hands: who's in on this thing?
