In the world of mixed martial arts, every knockout is truly its own, unique, unconsciousness-inducing snowflake. From time to time, however, we are gifted a KO that truly defies the odds, our expectations, or even the common laws of physics. That's what the 'Insane KO of the Day' is all about.
Today's KO: A Quadruple Roundhouse Kick Destruction
Are there any WWE fans in the room? I've only recently started to get back into it myself, but the reason I ask is because of the move above: the "fired repeated kicks" that former women's champion Naomi likes to dazzle/destroy her opponents with from time to time. Give it a look-see if you haven't already clicked off this article in a blind rage over the fact that I dare mention professional wrasslin' in the same breath as MMA.
Like most wrestling moves, Naomi's trademark kicks aren't something that I could ever see being used effectively in an actual fighting scenario, whether in the cage or on the streets. They're all sizzle no steak, style over substance, done for dramatic effect, yadda yadda yadda EXCEPT THEY'RE NOT.
Taken from yesterday's Dream Combat Championship event in Korea, here's some guy (whose name I have yet to find) using the exact same repeated roundhouse kicks popularized by the one true women's champion Naomi to absolutely demolish his hapless opponent. If the plethora of powerbomb knockouts we saw last month hadn't already proved that WWE techniques do in fact have a place in MMA, then I have no doubts that this KO will settle the debate once and for all. Because that's just how the Internet works.
