Nick Diaz made his UFC debut 13 years ago today, and MMA has never been the same since.

On Sept. 26, 2003, Diaz faced Jeremy Jackson for the finale to a trilogy that would see Diaz crowned the victor (Diaz won the rematch and the third fight).

The bout, which took place at UFC 44, ended in an armbar in the third round, and secured Diaz's path to UFC stardom.

The pair fist met at UA 4 - King of the Mountain when Jackson defeated Diaz via first round TKO. they would rematch almost a year later at IFC WC 18 - Big Valley Brawl where Diaz would claim the next victory.

The UFC would bring them both in to fight, just two months later, to finally settle the score.

Diaz has since amassed a respectable 26-9 professional record.

Nick is currently dealing with issues surrounding his controversial suspension following his fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 183. A portion of his suspension still stands, as he has yet to pay the fine for testing positive for marijuana metabolites.
