In the world of mixed martial arts, every knockout is truly its own, unique, unconsciousness-inducing snowflake. From time to time, however, we are gifted a KO that truly defies the odds, our expectations, or even the common laws of physics. That's what the 'Insane KO of the Day' is all about.

Today's KO: Lean Wit It, Rock Wit it

Question: When someone gets knocked stone dead unconscious, what do you typically expect their body to do?

You said some variation of "fall down" right? Me too! I have no doubts that we'd both be correct in 99% of cases, but the "Insane KO of the Day" does not adhere to such ordinary cases. Think of it as The X-Files of upstart MMA blog posts, only with fewer aliens and a theme song that is still very much in the works.

Anyways, while we've seen a fighter get frozen in time by a head kick before, I don't think we've ever seen someone stiffen up like a plank of plywood after eating a head kick and still refuse to go down afterward.

Enter this amateur bout between Wayland Comanche and Cody Biehl from 2014, which ended like this.

Yes, despite telegraphing that high kick on literally every opportunity possible, Comanche is still able to catch Biehl with his hands down while backing away and deliver the fight-ending strike to his face w.

Rather than go down on his shield, however, Biehl's unconscious body instead opts to pause mid-collapse, using the fence as a prop to keep him on his feet until the likely horrified referee can intervene. The whole sequence looks like someone pressed pause midway through Michael Jackson's "Thriller" dance, and is made all the more hilarious by the fact that the fight appears to be taking place inside a high school gymnasium.

That being said, props go out to Biehl for living by the code of NSEA Protector, whether consciously or not. Never give up, NEVER SURRENDER.
