The world of mixed martial arts isn't happy with Meryl Streep following her speech at the 2017 on Sunday night.

After taking the stage to accept the Cecil B. Demille lifetime achievement award, the decorated actress used her acceptance speech to make an impassioned plea for empathy and called out President-elect Donald Trump, particularly for his imitation of a disabled reporter while on the campaign trail. Although sports wasn't the focus of her remarks, Streep took a slight jab at as she explained what would happen if Hollywood was forced to leave the country.

“Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if you kick us all out, you’ll have nothing to watch except for football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts,” Streep said.

As expected, members of the MMA community had plenty of thoughts about the acting legend and her opinion of the sport.

president Scott Coker wrote an open letter to Streep, inviting her to learn more about the sport as his personal guest to Bellator's upcoming show in Los Angeles.

Going out on a limb here, but we're guessing the star won't be sitting cage side anytime soon.
