Kayla Harrison is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo who recently announced she has started Brazilian jiu-jitsu training, so, of course the comparison to MMA queen (and former Olympic medalist in Judo), Ronda Rousey came up.
Even though Harrison hasn't said she will for sure go that route, she did say that if the time came, Rousey would be a big part of that conversation.
"Before I make any big decision, I’m gonna wanna pick her brain and ask her what she would do differently or what she wishes she had or hadn’t done, and if I could do it, how I could do it any better," she said to ,. "I definitely feel like I’ve learned a lot from her career just by sitting back and watching. I really hope if I do decide to do MMA, that I can take her mistakes and sort of learn from them, and hopefully do a little bit better.”
The pair already have a friendship, and Rousey reportedly reached out to Harrison after she won the gold.
Harrison took her second gold in Rio this year, then retired to focus on other sports.
Rousey went undefeated until her loss to Holly Holm last November. She has not fought since, but is rumored to be making a return before the end of the year.
