It may be another year before fight fans see step foot in the Octagon, but that doesn't mean he will be shying away from the spotlight altogether.

This morning, it was revealed that the former light heavyweight champion had been suspended for one year by USADA following a positive out-of-competition test taken in the lead-up to his scheduled bout with . While most assumed that this would be the last we'd see of Jones until he was eligible to compete again in July of 2017, it turns out he's already booked his next bout (of sorts) against a familiar face with his past.

Speaking on today, former light heavyweight title challenger Chael Sonnen announced that Jones will be facing MMA legend in a grappling match that will headline his second 'Submission Underground' event.

Given Henderson's decision to retire from MMA following his unanimous decision loss to at UFC 204, the match is basically the closest thing we'll ever get to closure for the events of , which saw Henderson go down with a last-second knee injury and Jones subsequently refused to face Sonnen as his replacement opponent, leading to the event be canceled outright.

According to Sonnen, Submission Underground 2 is set to transpire on December 11th in Portland, Oregon. The event will feature 8-minute bouts under Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) rules, meaning that a competitor can only win by scoring a submission.

Additionally, Submission Underground 2 will also feature a match between former women's bantamweight champion and fellow UFC bantamweight in the evening's co-main event slot. To read up on everything you need to know about 'Underground Submission 2', head over to
