superstar John Cena will host Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend.

The wrestler-turned-actor is scheduled to lead the December 10 episode of , which also features a musical performance by up-and-coming country crooner Maren Morris. Cena's appearance will be on the long-running NBC comedy series' second to last show before going on break for the holidays.

Cena recently took to Twitter to express his excitement over landing the hosting duties, saying that he "can't wait" for Saturday night in New York City.

The WWE veteran is quickly becoming a comedic powerhouse in Hollywood.

After impressing audiences with his joke-cracking chops in recent hits like Amy Schumer's Trainwreck and Tina Fey's Sisters, Cena is now set to appear in a new comedy produced by Seth Rogen and also starring actress Leslie Mann and actor Ike Barinholtz. Titled The Pact, the film follows a group of parents who try to stop their daughters from losing their virginities at the prom.

Cena hasn't completed traded in the ring for the movie star life, as there are rumors that he will take on at Wrestlemania 33 on April 2, 2017.
