Jimi Manuwa was looking to make a statement at #UFCLondon on Saturday, and boy did he ever – both with his stunning first round knockout of Corey Anderson and his post-fight interview, wherein he called out not only the winner of the upcoming Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson rematch, but British boxer David Haye.
But one name that Manuwa isn't interested in, despite his drawing power, is Jon Jones.
"I’m not interested in Jon Jones. Jon Jones takes steroids and he’s been banned for steroids,” said Manuwa at the post-fight press conference. “Before, I was a big fan of Jon Jones, the things he’s done in the Octagon and everything but he’s been suspended for a year or something and he’s had issues before."
Jones, who is currently serving a one year suspension after being flagged by USADA for a doping violation just days prior to UFC 200, is expected to return to the Octagon this summer (unless those latest rumors have any truth to them, which they probably don't) and will likely receive an immediate title shot upon doing so. With Cormier and Johnson set to do battle at UFC 210 next month, it's very unlikely that Manuwa would find himself battling for the title before Jones returns (or before Jones period), but that isn't stopping the iron-fisted "Poster Boy" from preemptively negging ther former champ regardless.
