Legendary WWE announcer Jim Ross recently sat down for a chat with the A.V. Club, and of course he had some things to say about the frenzy over Dwayne Johnson's possible presidential bid.

While discussing which pro wrestling stars could make a return to the ring, Ross revealed that he doesn't think The Rock will show up in the WWE again, that is unless he's running for president. The commentator believes he'd come back as a wrestler only if there was an opportunity to connect with his core constituents.

"The Rock is probably going to be out of the equation," Ross told the A.V. Club. "If he runs for president, he may come back for one more match just to reconnect with that audience."

Ross didn't seem too thrilled about a possible The Rock vs. Donald Trump showdown inside the WWE ring, though.

"Wouldn't that be [a great match]?" Ross begrudgingly said. "Oh God."

The longtime announcer isn't the first star to weigh in on The Rock's potential run at the White House. Everyone from Ric Flair to Dave Bautista has offered their two cents on the idea, and expect more celebrities to do the same as we inch closer and closer to the 2020 campaign.

Ross previously stated in Champions' section that he believed Mayweather vs. McGregor was inevitable. Let's see if his latest prediction comes true.
