It was a rivalry fitting of two headliners — Jake Shields, an MMA champion taking on Dillon Danis in a grappling match that had all the makings of a quick submission. But it was who came out on top after defeating Conor McGregor's main BJJ training partner in triple overtime.

Shots were fired between Shields and during the build-up towards Submission Underground 4 with Shields telling Danis he'd make him feel like less of a man.

Neither competitor could get the submission in the regulation time and went into overtime (times three) where Shields would win via the fastest combined escape time.

Danis will make his highly-anticipated MMA debut for this year. Shields remains unbeaten in the SUG cage.
