Stipe Miocic isn't the only heavyweight with famous friends.
Former UFC champion #CainVelasquez got to party with George Lopez during a star-studded charity event this week. The comedian and combat sports fanatic invited Velasquez to hit the links at his 5th annual charity golf tournament to benefit the George Lopez Foundation, which aids underprivileged children and adults as well as raises awareness for kidney disease and organ donation.
Lopez an Velasquez posed for an awesome photo together, which the ex-champ posted on his Instagram account.
"Thanks for having me out [George Lopez]," Velasquez wrote in the post. "Great to help [the George Lopez Foundation] raise funds to send kids with kidney disease to summer camp."
In addition to Velasquez, the event also featured appearances by Black-ish star Anthony Anderson, rockers Train and Eddie Van Halen, as well as Roland Martin and pro golfer Lee Trevino.
As for Velasquez's athletic future, he may be spending more time on the golf course than in the Octagon. His coach Javier Mendez hinted recently that we may have seen the last of Velasquez in the UFC.
"I don't see him fighting," said Mendez. "He’s been more enjoying time with his wife and he did an AirBnb, those rentals that you rent. He’s got one in Arizona that he’s fixing up to rent, so he’s been doing that and spending time with his wife and his child."
