After a huge 2016, the UFC has big plans to keep the momentum going in 2017. With new owners overseeing the promotion, there are lofty expectations for the UFC heading into the new year. How many titles will change hands? What new stars will emerge? There are a ton of questions that will be answered as the UFC embarks on yet another year as the biggest promotion in mixed martial arts.

UFC 208 marks the official launch of the women's featherweight division as former UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm looks to become the first woman in the UFC to hold titles in two different weight classes when she faces Dutch kickboxing dynamo Germaine de Randamie. The event also features the return of living legend Anderson Silva seeking his first win in nearly five years when he faces Derek Brunson.

A clash of heavyweights finds hard hitting Derrick Lewis in pursuit of a heavyweight title shot. In his way is Travis Browne, who is seeking to end a two-fight skid and climb back into title contention. A battle of lightweights in pursuit of Conor McGregor will also take place as unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov looks to remain unblemished and punch his ticket to a title shot when he faces the surging Tony Ferguson, who hasn't lost lost a fight in almost five years.

A battle of lightweights finds Edson Barboza and his debilitating leg kicks facing Beneil Dariush, who is looking to climb the lightweight ladder. Shogun Rua hopes to extend his winning streak to three against the hard hitting Gian Villante.

The main event of UFC Fight Night 107 finds a pair of light heavyweights jockeying for position in a wide open field for 205 pounder. Jimi Manuwa hopes to piggyback off the momentum he gained when he knocked out Ovince Saint Preux when he faces the winner of TUF 19 in Corey Anderson. Brad Pickett will also compete in his final MMA match in front of what will certainly be a rowdy arena full of Brits against Henry Briones.

The long-awaited rematch between light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson heads to the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY. Cormier bested Johnson when the two met at UFC 187. However, Rumble has been on a roll since with three straight knockouts and plans to make Cormier his fourth consecutive victim. Cormier has promised to stand and bang with Johnson, but we'll have to see if he keeps his word on April 8. Elsewhere, Chris Weidman faces the surging Gegard Mousasi in a middleweight tilt that could have title implications. Weidman is in the midst of a two-fight skid while Mousasi has been dominant in his last four fights.

  • Fabricio Werdum vs. Ben Rothwell

Stipe Miocic lost to Junior dos Santos two years ago and is looking to get his revenge when he squares off with the Brazilian at UFC 211. Since losing to dos Santos, Miocic has won four in a row and now has the UFC heavyweight title in his possession. Dos Santos knows what it is like to be the heavyweight champion and would like nothing more than to reclaim the title he lost to Cain Velasquez nearly three years ago. Dos Santos has the upper hand in their rivalry but things have certainly changed. Also, Fabricio Werdum looks to continue his quest to regain the UFC heavyweight title when he stands across the Octagon from the mountain of a man known as Ben Rothwell.
