Heartbreaking news from the early #UFC205 weigh-ins. One of the most anticipated fights of the night has now been axed from the card as #KelvinGastelum missed weight.

The announcement comes as a devastating blow for #DonaldCerrone. The welterweight contender was a mere day away from appearing on the promotion's New York debut and biggest fight card to date. "Cowboy" began a very vocal campaign to fight at #MadisonSquareGarden following his #UFC202 win over Rick Story.

It's reported that Gastelum was on course to miss weight by such a vast amount that the fighter didn't even take to the scales, resulting in a visibly angered Cerrone.

Earlier today, #ThiagoAlves also missed weight, weighing in at 162.6lbs. Luckily for him, #JimMiller came prepared and started re-hydrating to weigh in at 157.6lbs, as the NY commission only allows a five-pound difference between fighters. And although Alves will now be fined 20% of his fight purse, the two will still be fighting under the lights of Madison Square Garden.

With Cerrone off the card, perhaps he'll receive his wish to face #DamienMaia at #UFC207:
