There is still much digesting to be done and another huge holiday gulf between us and the big UFC 207 card, but that isn't stopping Dominick Cruz from keeping things heated between him and Cody Garbrandt.
After all, the end-of-the-year card is the almighty return of #RondaRousey. If these two dudes want to keep the hype alive and the beef sizzling, they have to keep the internet typing fire emoji at their trash talk.
“The new owners of the UFC, they’re a management company, they deal with high, elite-level stars, and if you really look at the background of the people who just spent $4.2 billion on the UFC, they’re going to make specific decisions according to making the business better,” Cruz said to MMAJunkie. “Dillashaw, in my opinion, doesn’t make the business better. Cody [Garbrandt], with the emotional wreck that he is, people can grasp to that because they see the emotion in him, they see what he’s thinking, they see what he’s feeling. He lets it all out. Dillashaw is fake. Everything Dillashaw does is a lie. He can’t let his true self out."
It looks like Cruz is really digging his heels down on his hypothesis and trying to puppeteer the emotions of his next opponent. Either way, it definitely triggered a response, as Garbrandt batted one of Cruz's losses back to him.
Don't think for a second, though, that these disses aren't to also keep heat alive between him an T.J. Dillashaw. If both Cruz and Dillashaw come out with wins at UFC 207, there's a good chance that rematch happens. Will $100k still be on the line?
