It sounds like Aquaman star Jason Momoa isn't the only member of the DC Comics cinematic universe who knows his way around a medieval arsenal.
Fitness freak and Magic Mike actor Joe Manganiello recently revealed in an interview with chef Robert Irvine's magazine that he's begun working on his martial arts moves in preparation to play the villainous Deathstroke in Ben Affleck's Batman movie. While fans have been on a roller coaster of a ride watching the project struggle to nail down a director, at least they can count on "The Terminator" to be ready to face the Dark Knight in Batfleck's upcoming solo outing.
"My trainer and I have started putting together some workouts that are specific to the character and how I want the character to move," Manganiello said. "It’s an incredibly athletic role so all of the training is very functional. I’ve also started Kung fu and chi gung training, and I’ve also started working with katanas."
He added, "I’m gonna be ready."
Although he's no spring chicken, Manganiello also revealed that his fitness level is better now heading into the Batman film than it's ever been before.
"I’m lifting heavier than I ever was. I am constantly achieving new heights in terms of max," the actor said. "I’m more mindful in terms of taking care of myself. I’m definitely more mindful in terms of nutrition, proper rest. As far as physical or muscular maturity, I love this period of my life, this particular age."
Watch out Affleck, maybe you do need Anna Kendrick as back up.
