You may not be able to see dual-division world champion Conor McGregor in the UFC Octagon for awhile, but the Irishman is still competing this winter. Style publication GQ Magazine has entered McGregor into their Most Stylish Man of 2016 64-man tournament.
They explain their style tournament as such:
It's that time of year again, when we pit 64 streetwear masters and suited men, world leaders and world champions, traditionalists and ultimate swerve-rs against each other in a head-to-head heat to see who will rise above the rest and be crowned 2016's Most Stylish Man. There's only one way that's going to happen: your votes. Every day at Noon, a new round of voting will begin (be sure to check back daily to control the fate of your style god).
McGregor goes head-to-well-styled-head of hair with comedian and movie star Kevin Hart in the opening round of competition. Here's how GQ is describing the McGregor vs. Hart showdown:
Both men here are known for putting stitches in people (that is, the literal kind and the ROFL kind). When it comes to their personal style, both have displayed a level of fearlessness that should be commended. Hart prides himself on his humble attitude and dedication to fitness, while McGregor is a braggadocios cage fighter with a dedication to not giving a damn what anyone thinks. (The man wears fur coats like the rest of us wear peacoats.) Where Hart makes up ground is with his Nike deal, which allowed him to design and release his own sneaker in 2016.
As you can tell, the mainstream media is really starting to pay attention to #ConorMcGregor, and we love it. If you want to vote for the "Notorious" MMA fashionista against the funnyman, go here and make your voice heard.
