While his partner chases double gold, it looks like Dillon Danis found some for himself.

In his first jiu-jitsu tournament since grappling with McGregor to prepare him for Nate Diaz, Danis proved he is still one of the very best in the game.

Danis competed in the medium heavyweight division (195lbs) at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation's No-Gi Pans in New York. After submitting Gottrell King Jr. by knee bar and winning against Murilo Santana on points, Danis won in his division, then moved on to the openweight competition.

Submitting both Todd Mueckenheim and Aaron Johnson by guillotine, the Marcelo Garcia black belt won gold in both his division and the openweight division at IBJJF.

Look for Danis to fly back out to Ireland soon for more Mac Life BJJ training to help McGregor prepare for Eddie Alvarez.
